Description

WAFAB is a structured clinical framework designed to support the identification and formulation of ADHD in women and AFAB adults whose presentations are internalised, masked, hormonally modulated, or context-dependent.

Developed to address the limitations of existing symptom-centric tools, WAFAB guides clinicians through domains frequently overlooked in standard ADHD assessment, including executive variability, emotional overcontrol, relational labour, masking patterns, developmental adaptation, and life-stage-specific unmasking.

The framework is intended to support diagnostic reasoning, differential formulation, and ethical interpretation alongside formal assessment measures. WAFAB supports diagnostic reasoning and formulation by making visible patterns that are often obscured by symptom-led assessment alone.
